The first tooth
A first visit on your lap.
Within six months of the first tooth, or by the first birthday. A knee-to-knee exam, a look at how the teeth are coming in, and time for your questions about bottles, pacifiers and brushing.

Pediatric dentist, Katy TX
Dr. Nguyen, Katy pediatric dentist, is committed to providing you with excellent dentistry in a comfortable environment. Board certified in pediatric dentistry, from the first tooth to the last day of high school, with you in the room the whole time.
The First Tooth
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has found that your child should visit the dentist within six months after the presence of the first tooth or by his or her first birthday.
Early oral examination aids in the detection of the initial stages of tooth decay. Early detection is also essential to maintaining good oral health. Tooth decay has become the most common chronic childhood illness in the U.S.
That first visit is not a chair and a bright light. It happens on your lap, knee to knee with Dr. Nguyen, and it is over before anyone has had time to worry.

By the first birthday. Yes, really.
One building on Kingsland Boulevard, and a dentist trained to start this early.
Growing Up Here
Your dental care experience is fully personalized at Mason Park Dental For Kids. Your oral health needs, goals, and priorities are the focus of your customized treatment plan, and the plan changes as your child does.
6 moto two years
Ages are a guide, not a rule. Dr. Nguyen and her team are committed to guiding families on a journey to lifelong dental health, at whatever pace your child sets.
The first tooth
Within six months of the first tooth, or by the first birthday. A knee-to-knee exam, a look at how the teeth are coming in, and time for your questions about bottles, pacifiers and brushing.
The habit years
Gentle cleanings, fluoride to strengthen enamel, and a team that shows your child how to brush rather than telling them to. Sealants when the first molars arrive.
Losing teeth, growing teeth
Baby teeth help with speech development, chewing, and guiding permanent teeth into proper alignment. Tooth-colored fillings if a cavity gets through, and an early look at how the bite is shaping up.
The busy years
A custom mouth guard for the season, orthodontics when the timing is right, and cleanings that keep up with a mouth that is changing every month.
Nearly grown
Invisalign for the teenager who would rather nobody noticed, a night guard if they grind, and the same team that met them as a toddler. When they turn eighteen, the adult practice is down the hall.
The Comfort
Our kid-friendly environment, gentle explanations, and calming techniques help children feel relaxed and safe throughout their visit. Some children need more than that, and the practice is set up for them too.
Parents are always welcome to accompany their child if it helps them feel more comfortable. Nobody is sent to the waiting room.

We specialize in sensory-friendly care, using routine-based visits, gentle communication, quiet rooms, and tools like headphones or weighted blankets.
Nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia in a hospital setting. Your child's sedation will be closely monitored by expertly trained and experienced professionals to ensure their safety and comfort at all times.
Sedation dentistryToothaches, swelling, knocked-out teeth, chips, broken fillings, infections, or trauma are all considered dental emergencies. Call the practice first; the team can walk you through what to do on the way in.

The People
Board certifiedPediatric dentist
My philosophy focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and oral habits from a young age. By introducing parents and patients to the dentist at an early age, my staff and I are able to guide parents and children as they grow, and build trusting relationships with our families.
Dr. Nguyen is proud to call Houston her home. Following several years of work as a general dentist, she realized her passion was to work with kids and went back to Boston University to serve her pediatric residency and earn a specialty degree, gaining insight and knowledge about treating children as young as 6 months old as well as patients with special needs.

Front desk, assistants and hygienists. Nine people your child will see again at the next visit, and the one after that.
Meet the teamThe First Visit
Call (281) 578-7100 or book online. Our patient forms can be filled out online, or downloaded and filled out at home, so your child will be in and out in a flash.

The corner of Mason Road and Kingsland Boulevard, behind the Ranch 99 complex. If you could not print the paperwork, arrive 20 minutes early and the front desk will help.

Infants and anxious toddlers are examined knee to knee. Older children get the chair, the screen on the wall, and a step-by-step explanation before anything happens.
A cleaning includes gentle plaque removal, polishing, fluoride application, and an oral exam to check teeth, gums, and bite development. Images from the intra-oral camera go on the screen so you see what we see.
Every question answered and the next visit booked. We accept most PPO insurance plans and Medicaid for qualified patients, with transparent billing and flexible financing.
A portion of profits from all new patient exams goes to Parks Youth Ranch, a nonprofit focused on providing a stable temporary home for displaced children ages 7 to 17.
A comprehensive exam, necessary X-rays and cleaning, plus a free fluoride treatment. $189 for ages 13 and up. Cannot be combined with insurance; new patients only.

My 3 year old daughter recently saw Dr. Nguyen and I was so concerned my daughter would not do well. I was wrong!! Dr. Nguyen was so kind, calm, and patient that my daughter was put at ease. Dr. Nguyen explained what she would be doing beforehand and my daughter enjoyed her appointment so much that has been asking to go to the dentist. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!

Dr. Nguyen was fantastic with my twin boys. She was very patient and put them at ease. The location was also easy to find and so was scheduling their appointments.

Camille Ehiametalor Patient reviewMy son had his cleaning and X-rays this week. The staff was incredibly efficient and really detailed about the whole process. Even though my son had a huge fit since it was his first time getting X-rays, I feel like the staff genuinely cared about how he felt and tried their best to comfort him throughout the process.
